The Richfield Training Site is located approximately 20 miles south of downtown Cleveland and 20 miles north of downtown Akron in northern Summit county. The training site encompasses 42-acres, and the facility was renovated in 2018. During the renovation, we enlarged and improved the breakroom, hallways, and restrooms. We added an additional classroom, updated the classroom technology, and increased the office space for the instructors.  We also added onto the All-Weather Training Building, increasing its area to 31,600 square feet of training space!  Included in the AWB addition, on the north side, is a welding area and enclosed parking for our Class A CDL Truck.  Located just outside the all-weather building, to the east,  is a permanent concrete forklift testing and training area.  The large stone lot just outside of the all-weather building, to the northwest, is used for class “A” and “B” CDL training.  Our crane training area boasts the program’s only tower crane, and a variety of other cranes to meet the training needs of our members. The stone base in the crane area insures that CCO training and testing are always available.  The maintenance shop is 6450 sq. ft., which includes two full-size work bays,  parts, and oil storage, as well as a 10-ton overhead crane.  The remainder of the 42-acre site is used for earthmoving, slope work, and trenching.
